Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Social Worker LCSW-R

New York Spine and Wellness Center is dedicated to providing extraordinary care with compassion and offering state of the art interventional spine and wellness modalities. So that our patients improve their quality of life by diminishing pain, developing the ability to cope with pain, promoting functionality and work capacity, and enhancing our patient’s level of wellness.

A unique full-time opportunity is available in our Behavioral Health Department.

Responsibilities and Daily Duties:

  • Plans, develops, adapts, implements and assesses effectiveness of health behavioral interventions for chronic pain management, employing the bio-psychosocial model and using a wide range of evidence-based treatment modalities (individual, group, couples, family systems, telephone-based, etc) in close collaboration with our physicians.
  • Contributes to training of in evidence-based treatments for chronic pain management from a non-pharmacological perspective.
  • Works collaboratively with providers in a consultative and supportive role regarding consistent communication with the patients and in ensuring the cultural shift towards providing a bio-psychosocial approach to chronic pain management care. Collaborates with other behavioral health service providers

Must possess:

  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, in an integrated manner a wide range of psychological theories, assessment and treatment methods to patients with medical and mental health conditions.
  • Knowledge of clinical research literature; and ability to utilize evidenced based methods effectively.
  • Ability to develop coherent treatment strategies and incorporate new clinical procedures.
  • Ability to provide professional advice, consultation and interventions in areas related to behavioral health.

Patient Care Representative

New York Spine and Wellness Center, the regional leader in providing chronic pain services to CNY has an opening for a full-time Patient Care Representative.

This position is for our front desk and will have direct patient contact. We are looking for someone that will deliver excellent customer service to our patients by scheduling appointments, answering phones, managing schedules and handling insurance follow-ups and authorizations.

This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be able to rotate between our North Syracuse, Dewitt, and Camillus locations. HS diploma required; Associates Degree preferred. At least three years’ experience in a healthcare setting, medical terminology, and insurance background is preferred and strong computer skills required. Must be courteous, efficient and able to multi-task in a fast pace setting.

Patient Care Representative-Scheduling

New York Spine and Wellness Center, the regional leader in providing chronic pain services to CNY has an opening for a full-time Patient Care Representative-Scheduling.

This position is in our scheduling department. We are looking for someone that will deliver excellent customer service to our patients by scheduling appointments, notifying patients of changes, Monitoring the wait/cancellation list, maintaining calendars for MD and Provider team of 29 (creating templates, changes, moving appointments, vacations etc.), running statistical reporting on patient volume and providing and other duties as assigned.

This position requires excellent communication, a high level of detail and outstanding customer service skills. HS diploma required; Associate degree preferred. Requires minimum three years’ experience in a healthcare setting, preferably on a scheduling team, understanding of medical terminology, and insurance background. Must have strong computer and be courteous, efficient and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.

Medical Assistants and LPNs

Employment Application

New York Spine and Wellness Center, the regional leader in providing chronic pain services to CNY has openings for full-time Medical Assistants and LPN's.

Responsible for assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care; will work on a rotation between our East Syracuse, North Syracuse, and Camillus offices.

Qualified applicants must have completed all course work necessary, and have an active license and/or certification in NYS.

CPR certification is required. At least 1 year experience in the healthcare field as Medical Assistant or LPN is preferred, but not required. Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.
